Gifts for Grandparents Who’d Rather Not Get One
Choosing gifts for grandparents is like buying a car. You know what you need, but there are too many confusing choices. Thankfully grandparents on the whole are rather easy going and lovely. Most say they would prefer to spend time with their grandkids rather than receive a present, quoting that time is the most precious gift of all. But hey, they’re old, so what do they know about it!!
Gifts for Grandparents Who Don’t Want Anything
So I’m going to stand on my soap box now and tell you why we should give gifts to all the nanas, grandads, nans, pops, poppas, grandmas and grannies. Because they deserve it. Full stop. In fact, I bet you anything that when they were little, they made and brought presents for their grandparents even though they were told not to. That’s why I’ve made a list of the best presents for grandparents who’ve told you not to get them anything.
• Colourful Cushions – now hang on because these are not just any old cushions, so don’t go telling me this is a boring present! Buy or make a blank cushion cover. Give the grandkids some fabric markers or pens. Tell them to go hard and draw everything that nana and grandad love on the cover. The result: one totally fabulous hand decorated cushion cover. Now, I’d just love to see any grandparent not want one of these!
• Personalised Guitar Pick – any music loving, guitar playing pop or granny deserves their very own guitar pick. But these are not any ordinary pick, because these are a 99.9% pure silver guitar pick with a very precious imprint upon it. You can have their grandchild’s fingerprint imprinted within it. Now how cool is that!
• An Empty Book – yes, that’s right. Give grandad a blank book with nothing in it. But also give him his grandkids for the afternoon. Together they can spend time drawing and telling stories, collecting things to stick in the book or even have grandad write down his memories in it. A perfect activity and gift in one for grandparents who are not so mobile, both generations are able to create new memories with each other and will have something to look back through in years to come.
Quotes About Grandparents
Now, I just could not end without giving some super soppy, whipped cream and a cherry on the top quotes about grannies and pops could I? So here we go…
Blessed are those who spoil and snuggle, hug and hope, praise and pamper, boast and brag, listen and laugh. For they shall be called grandparents.
Grandparents are there to help the child get into mischief they hadn’t thought of yet.
And my favourite: The reason grandkids and grandparents get on so well is that they have a common enemy.
